Boy Scout Troop 311 recently announced that Andrew Graham and Kyle Garvey, both of Jackson, and Justin Voss of Cape Girardeau have earned Scouting's highest rank, Eagle Scout. Their court of honor was held recently at the Immaculate Conception Parish Center in Jackson.

Graham's Eagle project, a 15-foot-long bridge on a hiking trail, is at Lake Tywappity near Chaffee, Mo. He spent more than 100 hours on the project with help from his father and fellow Scouts.

Graham plans to attend Kansas State University and major in architecture. He is the son of Mark and Elise Graham.

One of Garvey's achievements while working toward his Eagle rank was the completion of a service project on a trail along Kingsway Drive in Cape Girardeau. He observed that there was an absence of shade on the trail and solved the problem by planting 15 trees. Ten fellow Scouts assisted him in planting and mulching the trees.

Upon graduation from high school, Garvey plans to attend a university to study engineering. He is the son of Joe and Maryann Garvey.

Voss' Eagle project included building cedar picnic tables, benches and a barbecue pit at the outdoor gathering area on Southeast Missouri State University's Lutheran Chapel of Hope. He and fellow Scouts also built a privacy fence, planted shrubs and installed and painted a staircase rail. The project took more than 200 hours to complete.

Voss will attend the University of Missouri-Rolla this fall, pursuing a degree in computer science. He is the son of John and Janice Voss.
