Three area gubernatorial appointees won Missouri Senate confirmation to their posts last week, state Sen. Jason Crowell, R-Cape Girardeau, said.

Jerrell L. Driver of Cape Girardeau received approval for a seat on the State Committee of Psychologists. The committee oversees the licensing of psychologists and enforces professional standards. Driver is a practicing psychologist who with an office in Jackson.

Donald H. Hester of Chaffee was confirmed to a seat on the Missouri Training and Employment Council, which studies and makes recommendations for improving job training in the state. Hester is lead electrician for facilities management at Southeast Missouri State University.

Verl T. Pope of Cape Girardeau was voted to a seat on the State Committee for Professional Counselors. The comittee guides, advises and makes recommendations on the licensing of professional counselors. Pope has a private counseling practice and is also an associate professor at Southeast Missouri State University.
