BENTON, Mo. -- Three Sikeston, Mo., residents have been charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, Scott County Sheriff Bill Ferrell said.
Arrested were Harvey L. Morse, 41, Edward T. Kerr Jr., 37, and Brenda T. Kerr, 38, he said.
Deputies had received a tip regarding the strong odor of ammonia emanating from the Kerr's residence.
On Wednesday, deputies Bobby Penrod and Bobby Sullivan investigated and found what appeared to be a methamphetamine lab.
The deputies found approximately three ounces of what appeared to be methamphetamine, along with other items used to manufacture the drug.
Two children, ages 2 and 12, were in the residence during the deputies' search.
The three adults were charged with manufacturing a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of chemicals, possession of drug paraphernalia with the intent to manufacture, and first degree child endangerment, Ferrell said.
Bonds for the three adults were set at $41,000 each. They remain in custody in the Scott County jail.
