CARUTHERSVILLE, Mo. -- Three people will be arraigned Thursday in connection with a fatal shooting Sunday in Hayti Heights, Missouri.

Samuel Carnell Jones Jr., 25, of Columbia, Missouri; Arthur W. Liddell, 29; and Demario M. Mitchell, 18, of Hayti are charged in connection with the death of Cedriceon Stewart, 20, of Hayti Heights. The three will be arraigned Thursday in Division II of Pemiscot County Court on charges of second-degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action. In addition, Jones is charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance (marijuana).

Pemiscot County Sheriff Tommy Greenwell said the shooting occurred in the 200 block of North Martin Luther King Drive in Hayti Heights at 8:30 a.m. Sunday. Greenwell reported several gunshots were fired between four individuals, resulting in numerous vehicles and two apartments being shot in addition to the fatal shooting of Stewart.

Mitchell was taken into custody in Hayti. Following a two-hour standoff that ended at approximately 11:30 p.m. Sunday at a Kennett, Missouri, residence, Jones and Liddell were arrested without incident. All are being held without bond.
