Chaffee, Missouri, School Board members Jamie Wessel Nix and John Swinford, and challenger Steve Milz are running for two seats on the board in Tuesday�s election.

Nix has served on the school board for the past dozen years, the last eight as president.

Nix said in an email to the Southeast Missourian she wants to continue to serve on the board because �I love our school and our community.�

The district�s biggest challenge is �balancing adequate funding while providing a quality education to all students in a safe environment,� Nix said.

If re-elected, Nix said she would work to expand educational opportunities for students in the school district.

The Southeast Missourian also emailed questions to the other two candidates in the race. Neither responded by Friday�s deadline.
