BENTON, Mo. -- Charges have been filed on three Scott City men in connection with two stealing incidents in the Kelso area.
James Thompson, 19, and Jonathan Williams, 21, have both been charged with two counts each of felony stealing, according to a Friday news release from Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter. Also charged, with receiving stolen property, was Philip A. Salzman, 17.
Walter said the charges stem from two separate stealing incidents which occurred at the same location just south of Kelso along U.S. 61.
The first incident was reported as the theft of parts and accessories from a motor vehicle which was parked in a barn. Walter said this incident occurred during the fall of 2008.
The second incident occurred on Jan. 11 when set of expensive Super Swamper tires and wheels were stolen from the same vehicle at the same location.
Walter said there are additional suspects involved and further investigation could result in the filing of charges against at least three other persons.
This investigation revealed suspects also involved in stealing incidents in Cape Girardeau County, Walter added.
Salzman posted a $15,000 bond and was released Friday.
Thompson posted a $15,000 and was released Saturday
As of press time, Williams remained in the Scott County Jail with a bond set at $15,000.
