Purcell vows to restore historic home

Historic preservationists in Cape Girardeau felt a twinge of pain when the historic Ponder mansion was severely damaged by fire in February, putting the home's future in doubt.Now the home's owner, Cape Girardeau County Commissioner Jay Purcell, has vowed to restore the home, despite huge costs to do so.
