Coroner: Woman died of hypothermia

We reported earlier this week about a Pemiscot County woman who was the only Southeast Missouri victim of the weekend snow storm — she died after heading out on foot when her vehicle became stuck in the snow.Today the county coroner officially ruled the woman died of hypothermia.

Dexter man pleads guilty to hostage charge

In December the Daily Statesman newspaper in Dexter reported on a local man who was arrested after a brief hostage standoff.On Monday the case came to a close when the man pleaded guilty to a felonious restraint charge. Click here for more.
