Power could be off for weeks

While thousands are coming home to electricity for the first time in days, thousands more in Southeast Missouri will likely be without power for weeks.

We've heard reports that members of SEMO Electric Cooperative could be in the dark for another four to six weeks, including some in Scott County. In Dunklin County, some towns still had half or more of their homes without power this morning, according to the Daily American Republic newspaper.

A little over 20,000 people in Missouri were still without power this morning, according to Associated Press reports.

And in New Madrid County, the sheriff's department reports that two women were found dead in their home from carbon monoxide poisoning.
