Steve and Mary Beth Denton are homeward bound for Riverfest activities this weekend.
The couple, formerly of Cape Girardeau, have been entertaining in the area around their home in Brownsville, Texas.
The duo, accompanied by Steve Denton's sequenced midi band, has performed on stage at San Antonio, Corpus Christi and South Padre Island. They also entertain many of the "winter Texans" who head south for the winter.
Steve Denton, son of Frank and Ruby Denton, graduated from Cape Girardeau Central High School in 1970 and from Southeast Missouri State University in 1974. He performed in several bands in this area, including Haymaker's Riot. His day job is teaching math in a Brownsville middle school.
Mary Beth Denton is the daughter of George and Betty Wrappe. She graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1971 and from nursing school in 1977. When not singing, she does home health nursing in Brownsville.
The couple have three children, Deana, Chris and Elizabeth, all of whom were born at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
The Dentons, billed as Steve's Studio Band, will be performing at the food tent on Saturday.
"It's great to be coming back to see family and friends and to perform for a hometown crowd," Steve Denton said.
