When two popular musical groups make an appearance at the Show Me Center in April, 2017 will feel like 1967. The Beach Boys and The Temptations will perform in Cape Girardeau at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 22, as part of their “Surf & Soul Tour.”
Each band has cycled through various lineups over the past five decades.
The Beach Boys lineup at the Show Me Center will be Mike Love, Bruce Johnston, Scott Totten, Tim Bonhomme, Jon Cowsill, Jeffrey Foskett and Brian Eichenberger.
The Temptations’ present lineup, according to their Facebook page, is Otis Williams, Ron Tyson, Terry Weeks, Bruce Williamson and Joe Herndon.
Each group has had a number of hits over their decades-long careers.
The Beach Boys are known for singles such as “Surfin’ Safari,” “Good Vibrations” and “Kokomo.”
The Temptations sang Motown hits such as “My Girl,” “Get Ready” and “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg.”
Tickets for the Surf & Soul Tour go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday. Prices start at $39. Tickets may be purchased in person at the Show Me Center box office, by phone at (573) 651-5000 or online at www.showmecenter.biz.
