Thank you God, for a warm soft bed,

For me to lay my tired, little head,

Thank you God for pets so friendly,

Thank you for my whole family,

Thank you for teachers that help us learn,

Thank you for the beautiful ferns,

Thank you for the wonderful angels who look upon us,

Thank you for the beautiful sun shining on us,

Thank you God, for all these wonderful things,

But most of all for human beings!

Amanda is a sixth grade student at Immaculate Conception School in Jackson. She recently had this piece published in an anthology of poetry by the Sparrowgrass Poetry Contest. She is the daughter of Bill and Carol Morrow.
