A storm that rolled through the Cape Girardeau area shortly after 2 p.m. Tuesday left hundreds of AmerenUE customers without power in Cape Girardeau and Scott counties, most for a brief period of time.
The hardest-hit area was in and around Chaffee and Delta, where 1,208 customers were without power at 2:30 p.m. Another 267 were powerless in the 63744 ZIP code west of Chaffee and Delta, and 681 were without power in the Oran area.
By 3:50 p.m., power was restored to nearly all of those customers.
Twenty-four customers remained without power in the Oran area at 3:50 p.m.
Thirty-eight were still without power in Cape Girardeau's 63701 ZIP code and 29 in the 63703 ZIP as of 3:50 p.m.
Power was later restored to all customers in the area, according to the AmerenUE website.
