According to the weather service's website there continues to be an elevated fire danger through Nov. 17 in Southeast Missouri. The Cape Girardeau County Commission's no-burn order remains in effect.

Smith said area residents can expect about a quarter-inch of rain during the day Saturday. There's also a slight chance of rain Monday.

"I don't know if it'll be enough to cancel the burn order," he said. "We're not looking at a whole lot of rain."
