PATTON, Mo. -- A Toyota Camry struck a tractor-trailer head-on Thursday afternoon in Bollinger County.
The driver of the car, Lucas K. Shrum, 18, of Patton, was taken by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center with serious injuries, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The patrol's online crash report says Shrum's car crossed the centerline on Highway 72, five miles east of Patton, at about 12:35 p.m., Thursday and collided with a tractor-trailer driven by 49-year-old Kenneth E. Politte of Potosi, Mo.
Politte was not injured, according to the crash report. Both men were wearing seat belts.
