MILLERSVILLE -- Stacy Jones, 17, of Jackson, was killed in a one-vehicle accident on Highway 72 in Millersvile at 7:45 a.m. Thursday. Jones was driving her 1983 Chevrolet westbound when she lost control rounding a curve. The car struck a culvert and went airborne before hitting a tree. MILLERSVILLE -- Stacy Jones, 17, of Jackson, was killed in a one-vehicle accident on Highway 72 in Millersvile at 7:45 a.m. Thursday.

Jones was driving her 1983 Chevrolet westbound when she lost control rounding a curve. The car struck a culvert and went airborne before hitting a tree. She sustained trauma to the head and chest and was pronounced dead at Southeast Missouri Hospital by Cape County Coroner John Carpenter at 8:48 a.m.

Her 13-year-old brother Dustin, who was wearing a seatbelt, walked away from the accident with no injuries. Stacy Jones was not wearing a seatbelt.

She was a junior at Meadow Heights High School in Patton. She is the daughter of Eddie Jones of Sedgewickville and Kathy Slinkard Jones of Jackson.

A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Meadow Heights Gymnasium with the Rev. William Brooks officiating. Friends may call at the Liley Funeral Home in Patton after 4 p.m. today.
