TEACHER'S CORNER: THIRD GENERATION TEACHERS WORKS AT ST. PAUL SCHOOL

JACKSON -- Tammy Mueller is the third generation of her family to teach at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.

"My family has been a big influence to my becoming a teacher," she said.

Her grandfather, W.T. Palisch, was principal at the school when Mueller attended.

She also teaches with some of the same teachers she had for class as a student at St. Paul.

"Things look very different to me now than when I was a student," she said. "What a wonderful experience to be teaching with them and still learning."

She teaches fourth grade. This is her fourth year of teaching. She also teaches math during summer school at St. Paul.

Mueller graduated from Southeast Missouri State University. She is married to Matt Mueller and has a son Luke. In her spare time she enjoys skiing, swimming, fishing and reading.
