TAX PROGRAM SET AT LIBRARY JAN. 18

Barb Johnson of the Internal Revenue Service will be at Cape Girardeau Public Library Jan. 18 at 7 p.m. to present a free program on income tax filing tips.

She will highlight 1995 changes, filing status, dependency exemptions, earned income credit, common errors to avoid and offer other tips. Johnson has worked for the IRS for 15 years. All but one has been at the IRS office in the Federal Building, where she offers walk-in income tax filing assistance.

Any special questions for Johnson should be called into the library's reference desk by Monday.
