POPLAR BLUFF -- A "Take Pride in America" outing will be held at Granny's Park, between Poplar Bluff and Lake Wappapelo, next Sunday.
The "All-American Salute" will be sponsored by the Chaonia Volunteer Fire Department, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to help homeless and indigent veterans.
Ecumenical services begin at 10:30 a.m., and other activities begin at noon.
Entertainment during the day will be Britt Small and Festival and Midnight Rain.
For adults, activities will include bingo and a horseshoe tournament. Draft beer will be available. For children (ages 10 and younger will be admitted free), there will be a giant sand box, pony rides, a large playground and a marshmallow roast.
For ticket information, call 686-4145. Goldstar Mothers will be admitted free, with special seating provided. The first 500 tickets purchased will be entered in a drawing for two days and two nights at Chaonia Landing.
Persons are urged to bring their own lawn chairs.
Granny's Park is located on Route W northeast of Poplar Bluff.
