A power outage, created by a burned out inline-switch, left many homes and businesses -- including a portion of West Park Mall and Cape West Business Park -- without power for more than an hour Monday afternoon.

First reports of the outage came at 1:22, said an AmerenUE representative. Everything was back on at 2:45.

The inline switch, said the representative, was just west of the Ruby Tuesday Restaurant, and tied two circuits together."

St. Francis Medical Center was not affected by the outage.
