A blue 1995 Jeep Cherokee traveling south on Sprigg Street struck a building at 215 N. Sprigg St. Friday afternoon.
The SUV hit a parked 2004 Pontiac Vibe before careening through the front yard into the white brick building.
The driver was distracted by her radio, according Cape Girardeau Police Officer Joe Thomas.
The impact knocked a hole in the building to the left of the second window, taking out half of a shutter and exposing the inside, which appeared unoccupied. The Vibe was dented on the driver's side rear door and wheel well.
Thomas said the driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, hitting a legally parked car and not having a valid driver's license. He said the driver's name will not released before formal charges are filed.
