Hastings was arrested at about 11 a.m., about 10 hours after police received a call from a restaurant employee claiming that someone with a knife had tried to rob the restaurant.

Police received a call at 1 a.m. from an employee at the McDonald's at 1925 Broadway. The employee told police that someone wearing a ski mask walked up to the drive-thru window, displayed a knife and demanded cash, Hickey said. The employee slammed the window closed, screamed for help and the suspect ran. No one was hurt, and no money was taken.
