Southeast Missouri State University's online master of business administration program received the top ranking in a survey of 69 business schools.
The consumer advocacy group GetEducated.com ranked Southeast first in best buys for online MBA programs accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. The group ranks online universities in areas of cost, quality and affordability.
This is the first time the university appeared on the list, according to a university news release.
"Southeast Missouri State University recognizes that it is an engine of economic growth and development for the state of Missouri. For this reason, the promotion of high quality affordable programming has been a long-standing institutional imperative," Dr. Gerald McDougall, dean of the Harrison College of Business said in a university release.
Southeast's program costs $8,000 for Missouri students and $14,000 for nonresident students. Degrees from other similarly accredited programs cost $32,926, on average. Southeast beat out Texas A & M and East Carolina universities, which ranked second and third respectively.
