Some 575 students from 27 schools throughout the area will compete Tuesday at Southeast Missouri State University's 34th annual Math Field Day.
Team events begin at 9:30 a.m., while individual testing will be held from 10:10 to 11:30 a.m. At noon, students will engage in a problem-solving event, Mathletics. All events will take place at the Show Me Center. An awards ceremony will be held at 1 p.m.
Contestants will compete in areas such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry, word problems, probability and calculus.
Cape Girardeau Central High School, Delta High School, Notre Dame Regional High School, Oak Ridge High School, Saxony Lutheran School and Scott City High School are among the schools set to compete.
