Six students from Franklin Elementary School placed in the top 10 state finalists in the Missouri Elementary Math and Art Tessellation Poster Contest. Three Franklin students received honorable mention.
The contest was sponsored by the Missouri Council of Teachers of Mathematics. This is the first year our students have entered the contest.
Fourth-grade state finalists: second place, Tori Browning; fifth place, Sallie Juden; honorable mention, Anna Rigdon.
Fifth-grade state finalists: first place, Bai Lu; 10th place, Kyle Tramposh; honorable mention, Rathael Fambro.
Sixth-grade state finalists: fourth place, Jocelyn O'Malley; seventh place, Becky Komereck; honorable mention, Dot Fleischman.
The students competed with others from the state in the same grade level.
