Five students have been awarded the Luther Hahs Speech Pathology Scholarship to attend Southeast Missouri State University for the 1992-93 academic year.
They are Elizabeth Pease and Pattie Collins, both of Cape Girardeau; Kristi Black of Scott City, Robin Riley of Benton, and Elizabeth Keith of Piedmont.
The scholarship, established by Luther and Catherine Hahs of Cape Girardeau, is awarded to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing a degree in communication disorders who have demonstrated outstanding scholarship abilities and promise.
Since the establishment of the scholarship in 1980, more than $18,000 in awards have been presented. Of the past 29 recipients of the scholarship, all have received master's degrees or are in the process of obtaining them.
Pease, the daughter of Mary Boren of St. Louis, is a graduate student at Southeast pursuing a master's degree in communication disorders. She is married to Carl Pease of Cape Girardeau.
Collins, a senior at Southeast, plans to pursue a master's degree in audiology upon graduation from the University. She is the daughter of Claude and Mary Pullen of Memphis, Tenn.
Black, a senior at Southeast, plans to pursue a master's degree in communication disorders. She is married to David Black of Scott City. Black is the daughter of Bill and Lettie Simmons of Glen Allen.
Riley, a senior at Southeast, plans to pursue a master's degree in communication disorders. She is the daughter of Carol Riley of Benton and Richard Riley of Blodgett.
Keith, a senior at Southeast, plans to pursue a master's degree in communication disorders. She is the daughter of Ron and Kathy Keith of Piedmont.
