A Cape Central High School student, apparently angry over being suspended from school, punched through a window in the school's office and struggled with police before he was "Maced" and taken to an area hospital on Thursday.
Police said the student, whose name has not been released, "got a little unruly and made a scene in the office."
The young man cut his arm in two places when he punched through the window at about 2:30 p.m. Thursday.
Firefighters said the student struggled with them and police, refusing medical treatment. The young man was finally sprayed with Mace by a police officer he allegedly assaulted. The student was then handcuffed and placed into an ambulance.
The student was treated and released into police custody from the hospital.
Dan Milligan, principal of Cape Central High School, said the school is not ready to make a statement about the situation.
"The student just lost his cool," said Milligan. "We've had situations similar to this before, but we don't want to say anything about it until we have all the facts."
