Donald Davis is one of six featured performers at the Cape Girardeau Storytelling Festival, April 9-11. "I didn't learn stories, I just absorbed them," said Davis, who was born in southern Appalachia. He grew up hearing fairy tales, scary mountain lore, and ancient Welsh and Scottish folktales. Davis is a graduate of Duke University Divinity School, a retired Methodist minister, and has been a teller at the Smithsonian Institution and the World's Fair. He has served as a guest host for the National Public Radio (NPR) Program Good Evening. He also is an author and has produced books and tapes of his works. Tickets for the Cape Girardeau Storytelling Festival may be purchased online at www.capestorytelling.com or by calling 800-777-0068. For more information, visit semissourian.com/capesf.
