A dark thunderstorm that blustered through Bollinger and Cape Girardeau counties late Tuesday afternoon brought hail, .04 inches of rain, a few lightning strikes and a small number of outages in Cape Girardeau.

No outages were reported in Jackson. One power line was reported down in Scott City.

AmerenUE manager Michael K. Holman said 24 outages were reported to the company after the storm moved through about 6:30 p.m. Eighteen of those outages were on Kurre Lane.

Holman said about 2,500 residential users experienced momentary outages due to lightning strikes affecting substations.

Cape Girardeau police reported one service line down on East Cape Rock Drive.
