A convenience store employee reported to the police by her manager for stealing rewards points was charged in municipal court with theft, assault on a police officer and prohibited acts for yelling curses at her boss and an officer, Cape Girardeau Police Department spokesman Cpl. Adam Glueck said Friday.
Tamika N. Cleaves, 26, 2842 Independence St., No. 11, was arrested at Rhodes 101, 10 S. West End Blvd. She is accused of using her personal company rewards card to collect the points after sales in which the customer did not do so, Glueck said. The store manager wanted her arrested, and after an officer arrived she began yelling curses, Glueck said. As the officer was trying to put her in the patrol car, she kicked his legs several times. The officer was not injured. Cleaves' bond was set at $2,000, Glueck said.
