KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- A Kansas City nonprofit's Meals On Wheels van is being replaced, just two days after armed carjackers stole it during a delivery run.
Kansas City Transportation Group -- a cab, limo and shuttle company -- said it plans to give the Don Bosco Centers a a 2006 Ford Club Wagon van Thursday. Kansas City radio station KCMO raised at least $4,000 by raffling segments of air time, and the center itself received $600 in donations.
The white 1995 Chevrolet van was delivering lunches to low-income seniors and people with disabilities when it was stolen while stopped for a red light.
