Holden spoke of the upcoming election. He said that despite wide leads in most races Democrats should get out and vote so that progress in education, balancing the budget and other areas can continue.

Holden rallied around Rick Althaus at Wednesday's luncheon at Drury Lodge. He said that Althaus, who is challenging state Sen. Peter Kinder, R-Cape Girardeau, is better for the job.
