The state dropped a charge of false imprisonment against Patrick M. Harris, of Cape Girardeau, that had been the result of an Amber Alert issued in February.

On Feb. 6, Harris was believed to have abducted his wife and child from a Cape Girardeau gas station, leading to the alert.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol found Harris, 23, wife, Samantha and then-1-year-old son Dallis near Cuba, Mo., the following day and arrested him.

The charges against Harris were dropped on Wednesday, according to the Cape Girardeau County circuit clerk's office.
