Huey shared a first-place award for her work in the 1994 C-SC "Dome" yearbook in the category of headline writing with fellow staff members Jamie Vavak and Stacy Courtway.

Huey is the daughter of Charles and Judy Heuy of Cape Girardeau. She is majoring in communication arts and serves as editor of the 1995 "Dome."
