Five St. Vincent de Paul students will be among Missouri representatives at National History Day June 11-15 at the University of Maryland-College Park.
Trisha Brase placed second in junior individual projects with an entry titled "Evicted: The Sharecropper's Revolt of 1939 in Southeast Missouri." She is the daughter of Daniel and Patricia Brase.
Beth and Patrick DesPres placed second in junior group projects with an entry called "Saving the Buffalo River." They are the children of Gladys and Louis DesPres.
Chad and Gail Heuschober ranked second in junior group performances with their presentation, "Margaret Fuller, A Mind in Conflict." They are the children of Michael and Connie Heuschober.
All are students of Sharon Thompson. They qualified by placing in the top two positions at the recent History Day in Missouri competition at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
