St. Mary Cathedral opens after renovation

The first Mass at Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Annunciation after church renovation was held Palm Sunday, April 13 in Cape Girardeau.

The "Annunciation" mural by Bartolome Esteban Murillo has been added to the front wall of the sanctuary at St. Mary Cathedral in Cape Girardeau.

The statue of Mary was cleaned during renovation of St. Mary Cathedral.

The statue of St. Joseph was cleaned during renovation of St. Mary Cathedral.

A mural of the "Heavenly and Earthly Trinities" painting by Bartolome Esteban Murillo has been added to the ceiling of St. Mary Cathedral in Cape Girardeau.

A three-foot reproduction of St. Rose Philippine Duchesne, Diocesan Patron Saint, is located above the statue of Mary in St. Mary Cathedral.

A three-foot reproduction of Pope St. Pius X, Diocesan Patron Saint, is located above the statue of St. Joseph in St. Mary Cathedral.
