ST. LOUIS -- A St. Louis County store clerk is recovering from a bump on the head from a gun, but he's lucky to be alive after a gun misfired during a holdup attempt. KMOV reported that a gunman tried to rob the Mattress Firm SuperCenter in south St. Louis County on Monday. During the robbery attempt the gunman tried to shoot the clerk, but the gun misfired. KMOV reported that a gunman tried to rob the Mattress Firm SuperCenter in south St. Louis County on Monday. During the robbery attempt the gunman tried to shoot the clerk, but the gun misfired. The gunman then struck the clerk in the head and ran away.
The search for the gunman continues.
