St. Louis jury convicts man for accomplice's death

ST. LOUIS -- A St. Louis man has been convicted of charges stemming from the death of a man killed during a robbery authorities say they planned together.

The jury Friday found 30-year-old Albert T. Millsapp guilty of second-degree murder and other charges after a four-day trial. Sentencing is June 30.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported prosecutors said Millsapp was the getaway driver and helped plan the robbery of a used car lot where 23-year-old Perry Cal Jr. was shot to death last year. The owner of the dealership shot and killed Cal during the robbery.

Prosecutors, however, said Millsapp was responsible for the death because it occurred during a felony in which he participated. Millsapp testified he was driving Cal to work and that they never discussed a robbery.
