St. James AME Church, 516 North St. in Cape Girardeau, is one of 12 nominees to be considered for listing in the National Register of Historic Places, according to a news release from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.

The Missouri Advisory Council on Historic Preservation will consider nominations for the National Register at 9 a.m. Nov. 8 at the Lewis and Clark State Office Building in Jefferson City, Mo. The quarterly meeting is open to the public.

About 55 historic buildings are represented in the nominations, and properties on the agenda include historic commercial and residential properties and districts, the release said.
