St. Francis Medical Center Foundation received a $3,000 donation recently from the Kiwanis Club of Cape Girardeau to help fund expansion of the region's only Level III neonatal intensive care unit at St. Francis Medical Center. The check was presented by Kiwanis Club secretary Ralph Stroud to Dr. Lynn D. Willett, board-certified, fellowship-trained neonatologist and co-director of neonatal services; and William H. Kiel, certified fund-raising executive director of St. Francis Medical Center Foundation and Little Reasons campaign director.
The Kiwanis Club of Cape Girardeau, part of Kiwanis International, consists of active or retired business and professional men and women. The club's continuing service emphasis is "Young children: Priority One." The Kiwanis Club also provides financial assistance and volunteer hours to many community groups in the area and annual scholarships to students; sponsors service clubs in school and assists in funding equipment for the local fire department.
To make a contribution to the Little Reasons Campaign for the Level III NICU expansion, or for more information, call Kiel at 331-5133.
