St. Francis Medical Center's marketing and public relations department has received top honors for a pair of public relations projects in an annual competition sponsored by the Missouri Hospital Association.
The "Show-Me Excellence" awards, presented Thursday by the Missouri Association for Hospital Public Relations and Marketing, recognize achievement and quality in various communications and public relations projects.
St. Francis received first-place honors for a 10-minute multi-projector slide presentation depicting the history, values and mission of the medical center. The slide show, titled "Stewardship Through the Years," was first presented at the Show Me Center during the medical center's annual banquet in June. The slide show was written and photographed by the St. Francis marketing and public relations staff and was produced in conjunction with Baldridge Studios in Memphis, Tenn.
St. Francis was also awarded first place in the employee newsletter category. The medical center's monthly newsletter, "The Spirit of St. Francis," is written and designed by the hospital's marketing and public relations staff and is printed in the hospital's in-house print shop.
The awards were presented during the Missouri Hospital Association's annual convention held at the Lake of the Ozarks. Nearly 200 entries were judged by public relations and marketing directors from the Oklahoma Hospital Association.
