Saint Francis Medical Center is in the process of relocating the services which have been provided for several years at the Saint Francis Information Center at Jackson.
The information center has been located at 2122 E. Jackson Blvd. in Jackson's Heartland Plaza since June 1990. Effective this week the Information Center's staff will be temporarily located in the Saint Francis Education Department, working with other healthcare professionals to provide a variety of healthcare education services. The information center's staff, Kathy Casteel, R.N., and Donna Eakins can now be reached at 339-6970.
"Even though our offices are moving back to the Medical Center, we'll still offer services in Jackson," Casteel said. For instance, she noted that on May 11 free blood pressure checks and low-cost cholesterol and glucose testing will be provided at Main Street Fitness in Jackson. Health screening services will also be provided by Saint Francis personnel at other Jackson area locations.
"And, of course, anyone who needs their blood pressure checked weekly can go to the Heart Institute at Saint Francis any Wednesday morning for that free service," Casteel added. Blood pressure and cholesterol checks are provided through the Heart Institute from 7 a.m. to noon every Wednesday.
