The incident happened about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday while Norbury was visiting the home of a 13-year-old friend, Wolf said. Police were told the gun was kept unloaded on a rack, she said.

There was no adult supervision at the time.

The boy who lived at the home called his mother at work after the shooting, Wolf said. The mother contacted police.
