ST. LOUIS (AP) -- The Sporting News is making major changes that reflect shifts in sporting news consumption.
The St. Louis-based publication, which has been around since 1886, plans to launch a free digital sports newspaper -- Sporting News Today -- in July.
The digital publication will deliver scores and statistics to subscribers' inboxes every morning.
Sporting News officials say the print edition will be reintroduced as a bi-weekly publication with more color and better paper, and feature contributions from sports experts.
The publication once known as the "Bible of Baseball" for its devotion to box scores and statistics is moving to Charlotte, N.C., home to its parent company, American City Business Journals.
