Watch your speed on Perryville Road.
The Cape Girardeau City Council Monday night approved lowering the speed limit on Perryville Road from 35 mph to 20 mph from 700 feet south of Meyer Drive north to the city limits.
The area is under construction as part of a project to widen and make other improvements to Perryville Road. .
The speed limit reduction is geared toward improving safety in the construction zone. The 35 mph speed limit will be reinstated by ordinance once the construction project is completed.
