JONESBORO, Ill. -- An Alto Pass, Ill., man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for production of methamphetamine.
According to a Thursday news release by Union County State's Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds, John A. Gleghorn, 56, was sentenced to 20 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on one count of unlawful participation in methamphetamine manufacturing, a Class X felony. Gleghorn was convicted of the charge in April, and under state law Gleghorn must serve at least 75 percent of the 20-year sentence, the release said.
The release said Gleghorn, acting with Billy J. Finney, 37, made methamphetamine at a residence on Bald Knob Road in February, March and April 2012. Gleghorn and Finney were indicted by a Union County grand jury in May 2012 after an investigation by the Union County Sheriff's office, the Jackson County Sheriff's office, the Murphysboro Police Department and the Illinois State Police Methamphetamine Response Team. Finney pleaded guilty in December, the release said.
