Southeast Missouri State University's Jessica Koeper, a sophomore outside hitter from Jackson High School, has been named to the all-Ohio Valley Conference second team for volleyball.
Koeper, Southeast's kills leader, is tied for fourth in the OVC with an average of 3.91 kills per game. She helped lead a strong late-season Southeast charge that earned the squad a berth in the OVC tournament that begins Saturday in Richmond, Ky. Southeast is seeded fourth for the six-team event.
"She's had a very good season for us and it's nice she's been recognized for it," Southeast coach Cindy Gannon said.
Koeper is Southeast's lone representative on the all-OVC first or second teams as voted by the league's coaches.
Eastern Kentucky and Eastern Illinois, who tied for the OVC regular-season title, swept the four major individual awards.
Erica Gerth of Eastern Illinois is the league's player of the year while teammate Maren Crabtree is the freshman of the year.
Eastern Kentucky's Lori Duncan was tabbed as coach of the year, while Eastern Kentucky's Brittany Nobilio took home the inaugural defensive player of the year award.
