Southeast Missouri State University's visitor parking lot at Henderson Avenue and Normal Street will be closed until August, as it is resurfaced and expanded.
The renovated lot, across from Southeast Bookstore, will have 72 spaces, which will be up from the current 53 spaces, university officials said.
The lot is getting a new subsurface, and drainage is being installed to accommodate runoff, the university said. The entryway from Henderson is being widened, and the lot will be expanded to the north.
The contractor for the project is Nip Kelley Equipment Co. The lot is expected to be finished July 31.
