Two Southeast Missouri State University students, Susan Ho of Cape Girardeau and Rod Whittier of Desloge, have been awarded scholarships from the national Business/Professional Advertising Association (B/PAA).
B/PAA is the sponsoring organization of Young Advertising Professionals, the student advertising club at Southeast. The national organization awards scholarships to only two students in the nation each year.
Ho, a junior, and Whittier, a senior, are officers of Southeast's Young Advertising Professionals.
In addition to receiving $2,000 cash awards, Ho and Whittier will attend B/PAA's annual conference at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York.
This is the second consecutive year that a B/PAA national scholarship has been awarded to a Southeast student. Rhonda Dohack of St. Peters received the award last year.
In addition to the Southeast chapter, the B/PAA has established student chapters at Baruch College, Boston University, Michigan State University, the College of Notre Dame in Belmont, Calif., Northwood Institute, San Jose State University, Slippery Rock University, University of Texas-Austin, Vilanova University, Wayne State University and Webster University.
