Scott City senior Skylar Cobb is the Southeast Missourian Player of the Week.
Cobb took park in two wins for the school's baseball team.
Cobb was on the mound for all five innings of his team's rain-shortened victory over Oran. An error aided Oran's two-run first inning, but Cobb held the Eagles scoreless the rest of the game.
He allowed just two hits and struck out nine.
"He's a kid we're going to run out there in situations we need to win," Scott City coach Lance Amick told the Missourian. "We have a lot of confidence in the fact that he's going to get the job done."
Cobb also contributed to the 4-2 win at the plate. He was 2-for-3 with two doubles including the go-ahead RBI in the fifth inning.
Cobb repeated his two-hit performance a few days later in Scott City's 9-7 victory over the Dexter Bearcats.
He also returned to the mound to close out the win with a scoreless seventh-inning.
